Taking a live streaming platform from MVP to a full-featured beta and beyond
The opportunity
Caffeine was in the midst of rapid growth — evolving its live streaming platform from MVP to a full-featured beta. The challenge was delivering an amazing user experience and securing the next round of funding while navigating culture change and staff expansion.
The impact
- Launched beta platform to rave reviews from users
- Secured series B funding based on beta success
- Increased development velocity to hit key milestones
- Accelerated team expansion and culture progression
- Solved challenging frontend and backend engineering problems
The process
Caffeine’s platform was growing so quickly that they needed pros who could support them at every level, offering stability and guidance as they expanded.
For two years, we provided full-stack engineering and strategic support. We were part of everything: frontend and backend development, organizing and leading teams, and consulting with leadership to keep product shipping and build out staff capacity for ongoing success.
By jumping in to take on critical leadership roles, we filled gaps and maintained velocity as Caffeine augmented its internal staff. Our team collaborated closely with stakeholders across the organization, from leadership to design to multifunctional feature teams, and contributed to infrastructure, frontend, backend, and database development.
With our support, Caffeine deftly navigated their growing pains, positioning the company for the next leap forward.
“Little Bear Labs came in at a vital juncture: we were scaling our team, adding staff, and managing an evolving culture while growing our product. Little Bear Labs was a true collaborator, making sure we could ship and deliver without losing velocity — our product and our team is stronger thanks to their support.”
